November 19, 2018

The Brandix Green factory at Seeduwa was significantly the first apparel manufacturing facility in the world to be rated Platinum under the LEED Green Building Rating System of the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The facility achieved a score of 76 (12 points higher than the required 64 points to achieve the Platinum status) on the 85-point LEED certification system, setting a global benchmark in 2008 for low energy consumption, water conservation, solid waste management and low carbon emissions. To date, Brandix has proven its continued commitment to its journey of attaining carbon neutrality by 2020 by achieving the LEED Platinum rating for its manufacturing facility in Batticaloa, becoming the highest LEED Platinum rated factory in Sri Lanka and the second highest in the world.
